History Of Jit Sin Chinese Orchestra
It was formed in year 1967, it was under symphony orchestra at first. In July of the same year, it was not under symphony orchestra, it left the symphony orchestra under help from peoples and headmaster. It year 1969, it was named as Jit Sin Chinese Orchestra.
It first concert was at 1971, in the school hall. Since that, it held concert almost every year. After that, it went around country to perform in year 1973.In year 1997, 1980, 1982, 1984, 1985, 1986..........1996, it organized "Hai Ming", "Ye Yun", "Gu Qu Jin Zou" concert. In year 1997, we invited A famous performer from China to perform on a same stage in "Kai Xuan. Dong Fei" concert.
We had taken part in lots of competition, and we also win lots of prizes. Such as we got first prize in the Ipoh, Perak Solo Competition, our member won 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 8th place.1991, our member got first, second, consolation prize....in National Competition. In year 1997, we won first and second prize in the 5th National Competition, second and consolation prize in 6th National Competition year 1999.In year 2002, we won Gold Metal in the 21st Century Chinese Orchestra Festival, third and consolation prize in the 7th National Competition. In year 2003, we were invited to perform at Phuket, Thailand. We had collected 60thousand dollar's fund. In the December of the same year, again, we go around the country to perform. We also perform and had exchanging program with the member of Singapore chinese orchestra .
In year 2004, we came out as the overall winner in the 21st Century Chinese Orchestra Festival and we also won golden metal in the small group competition. In the same year of December, we jump out as the winner again in the national competition. In the March of 2005, we organized a concert with the title of " Music-Spirit of Dance".
Introduction of orchestra function
The head of our orchestra is Mr. Lim Soon Oo. Then it is follow by student conductor, leader of orchestra, sectional leader. We are separated into four sections which is bowed-string, plucked-string, woodwind, and percussion. Every section have many different instrument. Every instrucment is lead by a sectional leader. We usually practice on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Wednesday is section practice to solve the member's problem; Thursday is all section gather and practice together while Saturday have both kind of practice.
